Undertile Mat Floor Heating

Undertile floor heating systems utilise durable thin mats that are ideal for renovations. Since mats are thin, they do not raise floor level even if placed on top of an existing subfloor. These are perfect for small areas like the bathroom, laundry rooms and other tiled rooms.

With the heating element laid in the glue bed directly under the tiles, these systems are quick to warn the floor and heat the room. A thermostat is included in the kit to help regulate the temperature. Programmable thermostats are recommended as they enable you to set the heating period, making the sytem more engery efficient.

The DTIF kit has a single cold tail making it slightly thicker and easier to lay. The DSVF has two cold tails and is slightly less expensive.

In Screed Floor Heating

In Screed floor heating systems utilise durable heating cables that are laid on the sub-floor surface and embedded in a sand-cement screed of 20-30mm. The cables heat up the screed bed creating a warm floor and a comfortable room.

In screed systems take longer to heat the floor than undertile mats, however, they do retain their heat longer even after the power is turned off.

A thermostat is included in the kit to help regulate the temperature. Programmable thermostats are recommended as they enable you to set the heating period, making the system more energy efficient.
